Sun or moon?
Sun or moon?
With @laybelynra and @japshernandez. Third night of pre-production of our RTV documentary “Hataw.”
I know this is already a month late but…
Happy 18th birthday Berta, my love. You will be in my heart always ♥
Yesterday, 6th of July, 2014, was one of the most unforgettable shootings I have ever had.
For our Radio-Television Presentation and Production subject, we were tasked to create a documentary that, hopefully, would be chosen as one of the finalists for a certain documentary making contest. The contest is basically non-thematic; however, given that previous winners of this event tackled social issues in the country, our professors insisted we make the same types of short films.
Our case study was Kuya Kule, a 21-year-old man born with only one limb. He has been singing inside jeepneys and asking for donations; this work, he told us, is called “hataw.” Despite his unusual condition, he is determined to finish his studies. He is currently in the second grade and is studying in Gregorio del Pilar Elementary school.
Mathematics in Photography
High aperture plus slow shutter speed is equal to a very overexposed photograph. Hahahahaha!
"Watching Hollywood films everytime is like eating popcorns and chocolates everyday."
Tell me, who in the world would want to live like that? I, for one, could not even bear to think I would be spending every single day of my existence that way. However, this was the very line which made me realize one thing: I was unconsciously eating popcorns and chocolates for the past few years.
Although I turned that particular line on my mind over and over, I knew it instantly struck a chord the moment I heard it. Until now, never have I realized that I had been indulging myself in Hollywood films and apparently disregarding other films, may they be studio or independent, Filipino, Spanish or of any other origin. All those times I had been striving to be a better film enthusiast and critic, I was patronizing films from the United States; it was sad to think that I tend to forget films from my motherland and different countries as well.
Who would have even thought that popcorns and chocolates would be the wake up call I was going to receive?
Photojournalism Class Vanities
Sorry but we are not sorry! ♥
As I was reading Nancy Drew Mystery Stories: The Bungalow Mystery, I had the idea of taking a photo of it with one of the albums I own, Fully Booked style. Without thinking about it, I picked Taylor Swift’s self-titled album.
The photo turned out really nice since the book’s and album’s colors were pretty much the same. xxx
First stressful thesis week with @annejoykristine and @fiercelycassey!
It was not really a full week of stress, to be honest. We were frantic the entire week, I guess, but the highest level of stress actually lasted for only two days, Thursday and Friday.
The first three photos were taken on Thursday. These photos were the planning and researching stages. The last three were on Friday, the day of our not-so-major thesis topical defense and the day we almost died of exhaustion and lack of sleep. Surprisingly, our minds were able to think and function properly, but with evident slowness. Hahaha!
Gonna remember this for the rest of my life. Epic!
